Budapest 2007

In Nov. 2007 we left San Diego with our our friends Dick and Julie for a trip to Budapest. (their photos here!)
All four of us had a wonderful time walking, touring, eating and drinking and smoking right at the table.
We stayed at the
K+K Opera on a quiet street a stone's throw from the Opera House and we booked the trip once again with Tatra Travel in Brooklyn, NY.  I highly recommend both.

A very vibrant and fairly large city, it is filled with history, and delicious fried food.  And graffiti.  Like all great places to visit, you just have to get out on your feet and walk around a lot.  Hence the almost 300 photos between the two of us to look at here...
Even with just about a week worth of time, it's still tough to cover it all.  We tried.

To compare to our trip last year to Prague is not quite fair because, as they are similar in some ways, they are very different.
Prague is smaller and a little more like a colorful fairy tale (also with lots of graffiti, however) and Budapest is a little more "reality" based.  Hard to explain, I suppose without being there.
I will say this, I'll take the food and wine in Budapest, the beer and colorful buildings in Prague and call them both great cities with a lot of history and beauty.

That was a terrible synopsis.  That's all I got right now.

Below is just a small sample of our photos, but I compiled two pages of the "complete" photos from my camera and Christina's camera so you can see our different perspectives.

Clicking on any photo in any gallery of mine will get you to a larger version of the same.
